Laura and Ron live at fLyiNg dOg rAnCh just outside of Pikeville, Tennessee - (in Nine Mile)....they share their space with 9 wooly friends--7 silly dogs, and 2 crazy cats

laura has been making art in some form or another since she was old enough to doodle...in the 80's and early 90's she used watercolors and markers to express her inner world...a trip to new zealand in '93 led her to explore painting with acrylics...laura doesn't have any formal training..an art prof at michigan state university gave her bad grades for "going to the beat of her own drum"...she is still following that beat..
ron and laura met while mountain bike racing in the southeast in 1987...in 1990 they moved to 8888ft in crested butte, colorado...where they got married in their yard, surrounded by family and friends and big mountain peaks!!!
..a waterfall is one of the wonders of nature at flying dog ranch...that help art overflow from here
ron is the resident wood worker...he makes the frames, and tables and other wood pieces that laura paints...be on the watch for ron's line of custom wood benches, arbors and trellises!!
ron helped laura get into her first art show in 1989 in gainesville,florida..it was a fun success!!
..in 1990 there was the crested butte art show..laura had great luck with being an artist in cb..she designed logos, tshirts, mugs..and sold original art at the thief of bagdad from 1990-2000...
.."oh baby, you really know how to take me to the moon.." was part of laura's show : the travelling jones-at the piper gallery in crested butte in 1997
in 1998 laura and ron relocated to flying dog ranch which is in the sequatchie valley-one of the longest, straightest valleys in the world (we've heard it's visible from the moon!)-north of pikeville, tennessee-in the nine mile community-one of the friendliest and prettiest places you will ever visit!!
when laura and ron aren't busy making art you can find them entertaining the dogs...or volunteering at the nine mile fire company where ron is an active fireman and laura is an auxilary member...or helping and/ or enjoying one of the fire co's bluegrass festivals..or maybe just lounging in the pool......life is great "back at the ranch"
This is sweet brown bubba dog REUBIE-whose name is also my seller name on eBay--she was a great loyal friend who was always at my side--she is now a sweet angel dog
